Have you ever heard of Beauty and the Beast?  At the Hilton, in Oakland Ca., where hundreds of girls lined up for a shot at making the “Football’s Fabulous Females” squad, there were no beasts, just beauties.  If there was a beast present, it must had been the rain  pouring down hard from the gray clouds above.  But that didn’t stop these beauties from attending the Raiderette tryouts that were held Sunday, April 13, 2003 at 8:00 a.m.

For some, it was their first time trying out.  For others it was their second.  Some were even there trying out for the third time.  As long lines of hopeful beauties trailed through the hallways of the Oakland Hilton, some were nervous and lingered about as they bit their nails, while others used cell phones to call family and friends for a little confidence booster.  Most, though, were beaming full of confidence, as they practiced their Raiderette smile.  Nevertheless, they were all there as they took the first step on the steppingstone for a possible dream come true, and that is to wear the silver & black proudly and represent the Raider organization.  Just smile, baby!..
