The Denver Broncos never knew what hit them as they suffered their worst loss in team history.  What had to really hurt was the fact that it came at the hands of their age-old hated rivals the Oakland Raiders.  From the opening kickoff, the Raiders dominated Denver in every way possible.  Zach Miller got things going with a 43 yard catch for the first touchdown of the day.  Just about every time Oakland touched the football, that play turned to gold.

Putting up 21 points in the third quarter, Oakland had a commanding 59-14 lead going into the final quarter.   That score would prove to be a final and a franchise record for the Raiders.  It was a quiet almost shell-shocked crowd in a stadium that is usually rocking.  Fans silently filed out in the third quarter as Oakland continued their unbridled rampage.  Although the Raiders didn’t find the end zone for the remainder of the game neither did Denver despite having a first and goal in the fourth quarter.

The Oakland defense sacked Kyle Orton four times, with three interceptions turning one of those picks into a touchdown.  Darren McFadden had a banner day, the best performance of his career.  He had 165 yards rushing and four touchdowns.  Raider quarterback Jason Campbell also turned in a great performance with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.  Mid-way through the fourth quarter, Kyle Boller replaced Campbell.

“We’re not going to letdown.  We’ve been learning a lot and we’re moving forward,” said Coach Tom Cable after the game.  “We have goals and if we’re going to reach them, we had to win this game,” he said.  “I expected this to be a street fight and it started out like that and we made sure that it didn’t go any farther.”

Has Oakland turned a corner?  Will they carry this win into next week as they take on the Seattle Seahawks?  Can they win two games in a row?  A lot of questions going into week eight, many to be answered next Sunday.  What could be more fun than a Raider home game on Halloween?  The dismal weather forecast will not diminish the excitement that fans will be bringing into this game and hopefully the Oakland Raiders will substantiate the words of their coach.  They WILL not let down and they WILL string two winning performances in a row.
