Ask the Fans in Silver & Black vs. Texas

Can Raider’s head coach Cable and QB Campbell succeed with the tools they have as far as pass protection and run stop defense? If Coach Tom can strap the cable steady-fold for offense and defense then there’s a good chance for a decent year for the Silver & Black.

On 10/3/2010, the Raiders went head-to-head in Oakland vs. Texas in front of a crowd of 32,218. The die-hard fans in Silver & Black give their perspectives on there beloved team.

Chris from San Jose Raider booster club talks about the Raiders-their path on defense- offense and what it takes QB Campbell to excel for the Silver & Black.

Chris: I believe any QB in the NFL needs pass protection. That’s number one. If you do not have pass protection, you will not succeed. Yes, he’s (Campbell) fast and quick, but if he has no pass protection his team will not win. Chris also talks about the ‘D’ of the Silver and Black. If the Raiders do not beat the Rams, which are not a top quality team….I, think the Raiders should stop them. The Raiders lost to the Rams at the time of the interview.  If the Raiders stop, the run they will win and that gives you a completely different perspective for the next game. Chris Martinez helped start the booster club from San Jose from 1994 that keeps the drive alive.

Manuel from Oxnard California (right): Manuel has been a fan for 16 years and a season ticket holder showing he loves the Raiders. “Score Board” I think the Raiders have a good line and I think they can and will come through. I think the defense can stop the run and will have a good season.  They will come through.

Mike (76 with cigar) from Brimilson Ca.. Mike has been a Raider fan for 45 years. Talk about the pass position, the Raiders does need a couple of linemen.  They haven’t had linemen for a couple of years now.  You want to talk about the QB position; the Raiders do not have a QB. Maybe they should bring Gannon back because they do not have a QB. We also need a LB; we did nothing to stop the run. The defensive boys have not been able to stop the run for years now and we all know that. Mike was also confused why the Raiders went with a rookie center. “Then we go with a rookie center, why do we have a rookie center?”

Yes, many fans know their game, players past and present. Hum, I guess we can leave it to the big boys in the Raider organization. Maybe that’s why fans are on the sidelines tailgating with BBQ and cold ones. Indeed the Raiders need your support and do not mind at all hearing the voice of opinions from the Raider Nation from around the globe.  After all, the contribution of the fans in Silver & Black is heard from not only the Raiders, but from fans and media from around the globe.

The Raiders lost 31-24. Raiders QB Gradkowski 24/39 245 yards-Texans Shaub was 16/29 for 192 yards. The Raiders rushed for 118 yards but gave up 249 rushing yards.
